Note: Attendance at intensive courses is mandatory for the duration of the course.  

This course will examine the logic of, and possible justifications for, different ways in which wrongdoers might be held accountable for their wrongs. Topics to be covered will include some or all of the following: moral blame, state punishment, restorative justice, and liability for damages (including legal immunities). Readings will consist primarily of excerpts from works in contemporary political, moral, and legal philosophy.

Evaluation
Students will be evaluated based on a final paper of 2500 to 3000 words. Papers must be delivered to the Records Office by 4:00 p.m. on February 5, 2024.
