The Distinguished Visiting Faculty program brings leading scholars and jurists to the law school each year from within Canada and around the world.

In past years, Distinguished Visitors have included justices from the Canadian Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal, and from the supreme courts of numerous other nations; leading legal scholars from Canada and around the world, including Europe, Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East; and Canadian and international scholars in a wide range of other disciplines.

Over a two to three-week period, these visiting scholars share their knowledge and experience with our faculty and students in formal classes (see intensive courses in the Academic Hanbook), in workshops, and in informal discussion. Through this program, the school’s faculty and students remain constantly engaged with the most current international developments in legal scholarship and practice.
