The Federal Court will be conducting a judicial review of an administrative law matter here at UofT law. The judicial review will take place during Professor Macklin’s Administrative Law class but students not registered in the class may attend.
This real-live judicial review will be of interest for anyone considering clerking, for those students interested in pursuing a career in an administrative law practice, in litigation, oral advocacy or students participating in moots. Students who will be clerking upon graduation may also find this session quite helpful.
To attend, students MUST RSVP through the "events" tab of www.utlawcareers.ca for this event as space is limited. Please RSVP by Monday, November 16th.
The following rules are mandatory for attendance at the judicial review:
1) Students must arrive 10 minutes early (by 10:20am) for attendance
2) Students will not be permitted to enter or exit the classroom once the judicial review commences until its conclusion at 12:30pm
3) Absolutely no cell phone use is permitted once in the classroom
Students who are clerking at the Federal Court, interested in the Federal Court areas of practice or considering applying to a Federal Court clerkship should also consider attending a reception with the Federal Court judges which will be held on Thursday, November 19th at 4pm. Details are posted on www.utlawcareers.ca. Please RSVP for this event separately by Wednesday, November 11th.
