Anthony Niblett

Anthony Niblett, assistant professor at the Faculty of Law, is one of three 2016 recipients of the University of Toronto’s Early Career Teaching Award.

Niblett, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Law, Economics and Innovation, is known for his engaging teaching style, and love of trivia.

The Early Career Teaching Award honours faculty members in their first five years of their academic appointments who are great teachers and “demonstrate an exceptional commitment to student learning, pedagogical engagement and teaching innovation.”

The winners are selected by a committee who look for effective examples of undergraduate or graduate teaching that include initiatives to enhance and/or support student learning, promote student-faculty interactions, contribute to teaching and learning scholarship inside and outside the classroom, or support pedagogical development or enhancement.

Award recipients receive $3,000 each and will be recognized at the annual Excellence in Teaching Reception this autumn.
