Edmonton, Alberta lifestyle magazine, EDify, has named Faculty of Law alumnus Ashvin Singh (JD 2014) to its Top 40 Under 40 list. 

The annual list, now in its 13th year, is a "collection of community leaders, health-care providers, inventors, tech wizards and those who give countless hours to make Edmonton a better place to live."

Singh, 32, is a taxation lawyer at Felesky Flynn LLP. According to the magazine, "Whether he’s coaching young legal minds in moot court competitions or running a non-profit board meeting, Singh believes in making one’s voice heard."

“That’s been the overlap in my life: I’ve always really had a passion for advocacy and discourse,” he told EDify.

EDify also heralded Singh for his many volunteer roles, adding he was inspired immigrant parents, who were active in the community.

He told the magazine, “I choose to kind of put my money where my mouth is and step up. [They] taught me that it’s not enough to just go to work and come home and relax, you have to really grind in different directions if you want to make a difference and have a presence."
