Dean Ed Iacobucci is delighted to announce the second annual Dean’s Leadership Award recipients for the 2016 – 17 academic year. They are:

  1. Solomon McKenzie for contributions in first year
  2. Joshua Favel for contributions in first year
  3. Ramz Aziz for contributions in second year
  4. And Christina Liao for contributions in second year

The Dean’s Leadership Award recognizes the outstanding co- and extra-curricular leadership of our 1L and 2L students at the law school.  Like the University of Toronto’s prominent Cressy awards for graduating students (six law students received Cressy awards this year), our Leadership Awards value both traditional and non-traditional forms of leadership, including:

  • Leadership on U of T Law committees, clubs, organizations, journals and/or student government
  • Leadership related to equity and diversity at the law school and/or in the legal community
  • Encouragement of fellow students to become involved in co-curricular and/or extra-curricular activities
  • Contribution to a sense of community at U of T Law

With so many engaged, hard-working and insightful law students, it’s a very competitive selection process, explained Dean Iacobucci. The Dean’s Office received numerous thoughtful nominations from faculty, students and staff, highlighting the very many students contributing to “creating an inclusive and vibrant learning environment.”

Congratulations to all the recipients!
