With the approval of the Executive Committee of Governing Council, Professor Mariana Mota Prado has been appointed Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, International Student Experience for a five-year term, beginning January 1, 2025.

Professor Jim Phillips has been elected an Honorary Fellow of the American Society for Legal History – the highest honour the Society confers – recognizing distinguished historians whose scholarship has shaped the discipline of legal history.

For his expertise and leadership in Indigenous and Aboriginal law

Professor Douglas Sanderson (Amo Binashii) is Beaver Clan from the Opaskwayak Cree Nation. He was managing editor of the inaugural edition of the Indigenous Law Journal in 2002 while a student at the University of Toronto’s JD program. Sanderson went on to earn his LL.M from Columbia University as a Fulbright Scholar.

Caeleb ‘Rae’ Goff has been awarded the Royal Society of Canada’s (RSC) Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella Prize for 2024.

The RSC awards 24 prizes to a graduating student in each of Canada’s law schools, who will significantly impact equity and social justice in Canada or globally. Each recipient receives $1,000.
