In today's Witness to Yesterday podcast, UNB Faculty of Law Professor Nicole O’Byrne talks to University Professor and Dean Emeritus Martin Friedland (LLB 1958) about his forthcoming book, Canadian Criminal Law in Ten Cases, an in-depth examination of ten significant Canadian criminal law cases.

The book addresses such issues as wrongful convictions, the enforcement of morality, Indigenous experiences with criminal law, bail and trial delay, and the impact of the 1982 Charter of Rights on the criminal justice system.

Founded in 1905, the Champlain Society's mission is to increase public awareness of, and accessibility to, Canada’s rich store of historical records. A volunteer, non-profit organization and registered charity, The University of Toronto Press Journals Division ensures its secretariat.
