The nomination period for the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Ann Wilson and Robert Prichard Award for Community and Professional Service are now open!

The Distinguished Alumni Award has been presented every other year since 1982 by the Faculty of Law to a graduate in recognition of their extraordinary leadership and lifelong commitment to the community.

On June 18, 2024, the Hon. Arif Virani (LLB 1998), Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced the appointment of Justice Colleen Yamashita (JD 2004) to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in Milton.

Justice Yamashita grew up in Hamilton, graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 2001 and a JD from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law in 2004. She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2005.

On May 29, the Industrial Accident Victims' Group of Ontario (IAVGO) and Advocates for Injured Workers (AIW) student clinic celebrated its 25th anniversary in Toronto.

Operating as a satellite clinic of the IAVGO, AIW is a unique student clinic dedicated to providing high quality legal services to injured workers.
