In Memoriam: Hon. Allan McNiece Austin, Class of 1952

The Faculty of Law is saddened to hear of the passing on January 12, 2018, of alumnus the Honourable Allan McNiece Austin, Class of 1952.

Originally from northern Ontario, Austin attended Victoria College at the University of Toronto, and was part of the first class to graduate from the U of T law school. His law career began as a student at what is now known as WeirFoulds LLP, where he became an associate, partner and managing partner. He served on the bench of the High Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, from 1987 to 2003. Retirement saw him returning to WeirFoulds doing mediation and arbitration work.

The Faculty of Law extends its deepest sympathies to the family, classmates and friends of the Hon. Allan Austin.
