Professor Hassan Ahmad

Hassan M. Ahmad (SJD 2022) was appointed an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia's Peter A. Allard School of Law, effective July 1, 2022. His doctoral thesis is titled: "The New Immunity: Multinational Corporations, Tort Law, and Human Rights in the Third World".

Prior to joining Allard Law, Ahmad was an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law (Common Law Section) where he was voted as “Best Instructor” in 2021. Prior to that, he worked at the International Criminal Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and as a private practice litigator. 

Hassan Ahmad wins human rights case on behalf of refugees

Recognized as an emerging scholar by both the American Society of International Law and the American Society of Comparative Law, Professor Ahmad has published his work in a number of leading domestic and foreign journals as well as edited volumes. He writes and researches on topics related to transnational tort law, the interaction of domestic jurisdiction and liability principles with international law, business and human rights law, and the emerging field of law and political economy. 

At Allard Law, Professor Ahmad will teach Administrative Law and will coach the Jessup Moot team.
