Five Faculty of Law alumni and an adjunct professor have been named to Canadian Lawyer’s annual Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers list for 2014.

Adam Dodek, LLM 2008, and Lena Koke, JD/MBA 2008, co-founder of Axess Law PC were selected Changemakers. Dodek is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, Common Law section, and teaches public law, legal ethics and professional responsbility. Axess Law, whose slogan is “Law made easy”, has offices on University Avenue and retail locations in Walmarts across the city. The firm is known for its reduced fees and extended hours, with easy-to-read price quotes and accessible services.

In the Government/Non-Profit/Associations category, Malcolm Mercer, LLB 1982, partner at McCarthy Tetrault LLP was named.

The Hon. Bob Rae, LLB 1977, LLD (Hon.) 1999, senior partner at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP, was named in the Criminal/Human Rights category.

And Murray Klippenstein, LLB 1984, founding partner of Klippensteins, Toronto, was named in the World Stage category.

Justice Paul Perell of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law, was selected in the Corporate Commercial category.
