Excellence is Black (EiB) is a celebration of Black achievement, an opportunity to build community across post-graduate and professional programs, and a call for a future generation of Black students to pursue higher education.

The Excellence is Black Award, is awarded to current or recently-admitted U of T students on the basis of financial need who:

  • Identify as a Black person;
  • Currently enrolled or accepted an offer of admission in a U of T professional, graduate or PhD degree program;
  • Demonstrated commitment to community leadership in advancing social equity and/or outstanding contributions to the Black community.

DONATE TO THE EXCELLENCE IS BLACK AWARD

The Inaugural Awards Celebration will be held this Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Three recipients who have demonstrated commitment to community leadership in advancing social equity and/or outstanding contributions to the Black community will be recognized. The event will include speakers, networking opportunities, community building workshops and much more.

  • Keynote speech by the renowned Wes Hall, D.U., ICD.D
  • Fireside chat by Lise Birikundavyi, CFA
  • Featured Spoken Word performance by Isoken Ibie
  • Workshop Sessions
