2019 Gordon Cressy Award ceremony

The Faculty of Law extends warm congratulations to the following graduating students who have been selected as University of Toronto Cressy Student Leadership Award recipients:

Ramz Aziz

Ramz was Co-Chair of the South Asian Law Students Association, and Senior Editor of the UofT Faculty of Law Review.

Zachary Biech

Zachary founded the Indigenous Studies Students’ Association and the Indigenous Rights Working Group at the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights.

Josh Favel

Josh was Co-President of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association, and Co-Editor of the Indigenous Law Journal.

Marie Kiluu-Ngila

Marie was Co-President of the Black Law Students’ Association.

Solomon McKenzie

Solomon has dedicated considerable time and energy to strengthening the voices of diverse student communities within the Faculty.

David Rybak

David was National President of the First Generation Network, a group supporting students who are the first in their family to complete post-secondary education.

The recipients received their award at a ceremony at Convocation Hall on April 22.

The Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Awards were established in 1994 by the University of Toronto Alumni Association (UTAA) and the Division of University Advancement in order to recognize graduating students who have made outstanding extra-curricular contributions to their college, faculty or school, or to the university as a whole.
