Named in recognition of former Chief Justice, Warren K. Winkler, The Winkler Moot presents students with the unique challenge of a mock class action proceeding.

Class action lawsuits are litigated on behalf of hundreds, or potentially, thousands of plaintiffs, providing access to justice while influencing policy change.

Competing this year for the plaintiffs, were second-year JD students Hannah Beltran and Christian D’Ambrosi and for the defendants, Jaerin Kim and Audrey Wu.

The team had a successful moot, with Beltran and D’Ambrosi receiving Best Plaintiff Factum and Wu being named Third Place Oralist.

The team was coached by Adjunct Moot Advisors Cheryl Woodin, Partner and Co-Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at Bennette Jones, and Joseph Blinick, a Partner at Bennette Jones, as well as third-year JD students, Noam Epstein Roth and Bjorn Wagenpfeil.
