Are you a U of T researcher passionate about ensuring powerful new technologies like AI are effective, safe, ethical, and fair? Would you like to collaborate with the Schwartz Reisman Institute’s academic community and contribute to a mission to ensure powerful technologies improve life for everyone?

The Schwartz Reisman Institute is excited to announce our inaugural calls for both faculty (PDF) and graduate (PDF) fellows from within the U of T community across all three campuses.

SRI welcomes applications from all academic disciplines spanning the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. The Institute aims to foster both fundamental research and applied work; we’re particularly interested in solutions-oriented research that takes existing questions and attempts to identify new ways in which pressing problems at the intersection of technology and society might be understood and addressed.

Fellows will join our diverse community of research leads, faculty affiliates, and postdoctoral fellows to contribute to and lead activities at the Institute, including meetings, workshops, lectures, discussion groups, and other initiatives that foster our commitment to reconceptualizing notions of the ways technology, systems, and society interact. Fellows will be encouraged to build community and drive collaboration both within and outside the Schwartz Reisman Institute.

Visit the SRI Toronto website for the official calls for fellows for more information about eligibility, compensation, and application instructions.
