Alumnus Michael Dineen  (LLB 2002) has received an Arbor Award from the University of Toronto. Since 1989, the annual awards have celebrated students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members for their exceptional volunteer work. He received the award from U of T Chancellor Rose Patten and President Meric Gertler at the 30th annual Arbor Awards gala held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the Carlu in downtown Toronto

Michael is a long-time advisor to students participating in Law School mooting competitions. He helped establish the appellate criminal law externship, which gives students opportunities to work on pending appeals going before the Ontario Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Canada.
