Fred Kan on left on cover of Hong Kong Lawyer magazine

Alumnus Fred Kan, Class of 1967, is featured on the cover of Hong Kong Lawyer magazine for his outstanding contributions—almost 50 years—to the legal profession and public service, spanning two countries.

Kan was the first Chinese-Canadian to graduate from the Faculty of Law, and he practiced in Ontario until 1984. He also ran for Ontario public office in 1975, and helped to launch the Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals. He returned to Hong Kong and founded Fred Kan & Co., a commercial law firm based in Central Plaza, off Harbour Road in Wan Chai, focusing on dispute resolution, real estate, urban planning and environmental law.
