Ron Daniels

Alumnus and former U of T law dean, Ron Daniels, JD 1986, currently the president of Johns Hopkins University, wrote a statement to his university community, as many academics have done in North America, in light of the US travel ban and the situation in that country.

He recalled his family’s Jewish refugee story and spoke of his gratitude for Canada’s acceptance of his father and family members, mere months before Hitler invaded Poland. Read his letter, which was reprinted in the Washington Post.

In addition, the National Post ran a feature of Ron Daniels, highlighting how he brings his Canadian values to his job at Johns Hopkins University. Read the story here:

Daniels received an honorary degree from the University of Toronto, and most recently an Order of Canada.
