Bob Rae

Alumnus, Rhode Scholar, former premier of Ontario, and interim leader of the federal Liberal Party of Canada the Hon. Bob Rae, Class of 1977, is the new Distinguished Senior Fellow at the University of Toronto's School of Public Policy and Governance.

Students will have the opporturnity to learn from Ontario's 21st premier, and the former foreign affairs critic of the Liberal Party. He was elected nine times to federal and provincial parliaments, and recently resigned as Member of Pariliament for Toronto Centre. In addition to teaching, and participating with faculty in SPPG activities, Rae will be the chief negotiator for First Nations in talks with the Ontario government about development of northern Ontario's Ring of Fire, an area in the James Bay Lowlands with mining exploration.
