Jimmy Chia-Shin Hsu (LL.B. National Taiwan University; LL.M. & J.S.D. The University of Chicago) is Research Professor at the Institute of Law, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. He was the ASLI fellow of the National University of Singapore Law Faculty in 2016, Harvard Yenching Scholar 2016-2017. Currently he is the President of Taiwan Association for Philosophy of Law, the IVR (International Association for Social Philosophy and Philosophy of Law) Taiwan Section. He has been invited by the Taiwan Constitutional Court to provide expert opinions multiple times. His research fields include legal philosophy and comparative constitutional law, and his recent interests include civil disobedience, human dignity, and transitional justice. In addition to numerous journal articles, he edited the volume Human Dignity in Asia: Dialogue between Law and Culture, published by Cambridge University Press in 2022, and The Ethics of Historical Memory: From Transitional Justice to Overcoming the Past (in Chinese) published by National Taiwan University press in 2024.
