As the founder and Chair of Torys’ Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice, Kristine Di Bacco provides strategic counseling to emerging and high-growth companies primarily in the consumer and enterprise tech, fintech, digital health, social networking and software industries. Kristine also represents and advises leading incubators, angel investors, venture capitalists, and strategic investors as they support and invest in companies across all stages of growth. Kristine's experience and practice are truly cross-border. Originally from Toronto, Kristine spent over a decade working with notable startups, unicorns and funds in Silicon Valley and New York where she was a partner at a leading Silicon Valley technology law firm. Now based in Canada, Kristine works with leading investors and startups, utilizing her expertise and network to ensure both her Canadian and U.S. clients have access to the highest level of strategic counsel. Kristine advises clients on all aspects of general corporate and securities law—from formation and corporate governance responsibilities to equity incentives and employment issues to IP and commercial transactions. She has negotiated and structured a wide variety of strategic transactions, including seed and venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, corporate reorganizations, and debt financings.
