Adjunct Professor

Andrew J.F. KentB.A. (UofT) 1973, J.D. (UofT) 1976, Ontario Bar 1979. For over 25 years while practising at McMillan LLP Andy was recognized as one of Canada's very top business insolvency lawyers. His additional banking law expertise and commercial litigation experience enabled Andy to provide leadership both in the boardroom and in the Courts, and he had significant impact on both key case law developments and on amendments to the insolvency statutes. In 2019 he left McMillan to serve as general counsel of a public company engaged in a 2 year operational turnaround, and he now undertakes select legal and business projects. He has had extensive lecturing experience including as an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law. While carrying on a busy practice Andy also served as McMillan's managing partner for a decade leading its transformation into a successful national law firm.
