Virtual event

The Tort Law & Social Equality Project is led by Professors Sophia Moreau (U of T Law), Zoë Sinel (Western Law) and Jean Thomas (Queen's Law). It aims to bring together academics, lawyers and judges from across Canada — and beyond — to think about ways in which tort law either perpetuates existing social inequalities or can be used creatively to combat such inequalities.

The project website (www.tortlawandsocialequality.ca) will go live on Feb. 11, and contains an online database of primary law and secondary sources relating to tort law’s unequal impact on certain social groups. It also contains a Discussion Forum where practitioners, students, academics and judges will be invited to share their thoughts on important issues each month.

Alumni, students, and faculty are all welcome to participate.
