Marie Nicolini’s research projects and interests encompass issues of end-of-life decision-making in mental health and neurodegenerative disorders such as dementia; autonomy and informed consent; and topics within research ethics. Her FWO funded research will focus on the relationship between psychiatric euthanasia and suicide prevention in mental health, and the underlying conceptions of autonomy and informed consent, to examine whether or not the two practices are compatible.
