Pandemic-Related Issues Facing Family Law

June 29, 2021
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted significant changes to the practice of family law. New legal issues and precedents have rapidly arisen, and there has been a dramatic shift in how Ontarians are able to access legal services and the courts.

What happens when separated parents disagree about whether their children should attend school virtually or in-person? How are child support obligations impacted by COVID-19-related income loss? How has the prevalence and nature of domestic violence been affected by the pandemic? How have the courts shifted to virtual operations?

Save the date and join Roslyn Tsao, Epstein Cole; Richard Teicher, Downtown Legal Services; and Dana Rotenberg, Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC), for a presentation and Q&A that will explore some key issues that have arisen in family law as a result of COVID-19.
