JD Admissions Timeline - Entry in 2019 & 2020

Entry Points into the JD Program

For degree study
JD First Year - entry occurs once a year in August
JD Upper Year - entry occurs once a year in September

For non-degree study
Entry occurs in September. Visiting exchange or letter of permission students may be allowed to enter in January, but must apply by standard deadlines.

Deadline for Application - First Year entry*
to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre
- Online: 11:59 pm (Toronto time) on the deadline date
- Mail/courier: postmarked on or before the deadline date

Apply by the deadline even if you intend to sit the LSAT later in November or the following January after the deadline, or if your transcripts may be late to arrive at OLSAS.

First Year applicants

If you plan on taking the LSAT after the Nov 1 application deadline, please still apply to OLSAS by the deadline, otherwise you will not have access to the application form.

Do not wait to register for the test or for the test results in order to apply. The application form will ask if a future test will be taken, and the results can be submitted once they are available.

- the last acceptable test date for admission to UofT in the entry year. 
- taking the test at earlier dates is strongly encouraged
 
First Year applicants

TIMING OF ADMISSION DECISIONS 

First Year Applicants 
We expect to make three main rounds of offers of admissions as follows:

For entry in 2020: one round in early December, another round in late January, and a final round in mid-March
 
When all places in the class have been filled, a wait list is established to fill vacancies as they occur.

 
Upper Year Applicants (Transfers, Visiting/Letter of Permission, NCA)
Offers are made on a rolling basis, as applications become complete and are reviewed. There is no wait list for upper year applicants.
