Kirk Boyd is the author of the bestselling book 2048: Humanity's Agreement to Live Together—The International Movement for Enforceable Human Rights.  The book is published by Berrett Koehler and is available in bookstores across the United States and Canada. 2048 sets forth a plan for an International Bill of Rights that would be enforceable in the courts of all countries by the year 2048, the 100th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Kirk is also the Executive Director of the 2048 Project at the U.C. Berkeley Law School, and also  teaches international human rights.  He completed his B.S. in political science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (1981), followed by his J.D. (1985), LL.M (1996) and J.S.D. (2000) from Berkeley Law School.  He has been a litigator with Morrison & Forester and a partner in the firm Boyd, Huffman, Williams and Urla. The majority of his cases have involved civil rights and environmental law. He was trained as a trial lawyer, but has also appeared as appellate counsel at every level of court, including the United States Supreme Court.

Books will be available for purchase at the lecture starting at 12:10pm.
