Reena Goyal, who has deferred her third year of studies at the faculty to work for Commonwealth Legal Inc., writes in the Oct. 25, 2002 edition of the Lawyer's Weekly about her participation in the development of a groundbreaking civil appeal brief.

Hired by the company this year, Goyal writes that she helped develop the first full-scale civil electronic appeal brief for the Lafarge cement action heard by the Ontario Court of Appeal in late last June.

The result was a CD-ROM amalgamating almost 16,000 legal pages, including more than 500 legal precedents, joint compendium and appeal book documents, Goyal writes.

Although she deferred her third year, Goyal holds the position of Chief Justice of the student moot program at the Faculty.
