Eleanor Clitheroe, the embattled former Hydro One president CEO, has hired alumnus Alan Lenczner ('67) to look at the possibility of suing the government-owned utility for wrongful dismissal and defamation, the National Post reported recently.

In its Wednesday July 31, 2002 edition (page FP 10), the Post reported that Lenczer, of Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin was handling the high-profile case. Clitheroe was fired from Hydro One amidst a storm of controversy after it was made public that she allegedly mismanaged company credit cards, abused chauferred driving services and had Hydro One service providers do renovations on her home. Clitheroe supporters, meanwhile, have criticized the government for its handling of the dismissal, citing the former president and CEO as a dedicated and hard working employee not worthy of such treatment.
