On March 28, 2011, the Centre for the Legal Profession (CLP) held its second session in the Program on Professionalism.  Our featured speaker, Ms. Sandra Forbes, Partner, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, addressed the question “Can zealous advocacy and professionalism co-exist?”.  This lively and engaging discussion provided an excellent opportunity to promote ethical and professional issues and to bring a dynamic member of the bar together with our students and alumni.

Award Donors Reception, 2011

About 50 donors, students and Faculty of Law supporters turned out March 1, 2011, for the annual Award Donor reception to bring donors face-to-face with the students they have helped through our financial aid and academic prize programs.

Dean Mayo Moran talked about the significant and crucial role these aid program plays at the law school, and how it would not be possible without private supporters, such as David MacDonald, LLB 1981.

(May 30, 2011) Prof. Edward Iacobucci, Osler Chair in Business Law, has prepared a report that argues that Intellectual Property (IP) protection for pharmaceutical companies in Canada is already stronger than that in any other industrial sector in Canada, and is in many ways stronger than pharmaceutical IP in the European Union and United States.
