Blue skies, baseball caps and a picture-perfect setting by the Bennett Gates greeted the more than 170 guests who attended the June 4 groundbreaking of the Jackman Law Building.  And with the official turning of the sod, the Faculty of Law expansion was set in motion.

Graffiti Party closes out Moot Court Room

Law students didn’t have any problem saying good-bye to the Moot Court Room, in advance of its demolition.

The recent graffiti party on May 23, 2013 officially closed out the room in preparation for construction of the new Jackman Law Building.

Forty students and faculty, including Dean Mayo Moran, decked out in a hazmat suit, put on gloves, grabbed some cans and started to spray paint.

The Faculty of Law’s building project includes exciting plans for the green space at the south end of the site.  In addition to creating wonderful new space for the Faculty of Law, we are also committed to enhancing the beauty of the natural environment in Philosopher’s Walk and the other areas around the new Jackman Law Building.

The architects conceptualized the landscape plan to address four primary challenges:

More than 200 alumni and friends of the Faculty of Law gathered on Nov. 29, 2011 to celebrate the launch of a $53-million building campaign to position Canada’s number one law school for a future of boundless leadership, potential and vision.
