Lawyering in the 21st Century: Responding to Access to Justice Needs

Join PBSC National Director and Law Foundation Fellow Nikki Gershbain, and special guests, for a workshop and panel discussion on “limited scope” services. What are they, how can they benefit you as a lawyer, and how can they be used to respond to the justice needs of the public?

Speakers:

Nikki Gershbain is the National Director of PBSC, and a former family lawyer. In 2017, she led a project on “legal coaching” in family law, as part of an LFO Fellowship she completed at Windsor Law. In 2013, 2015 and 2017, Gershbain was nominated one of the top 25 most influential lawyers in Canada for her work on access to justice.

Renatta Austin is a community-based lawyer offering affordable legal services, whose practice has been featured in the mainstream and legal media.

Randi Druzin is an author and journalist who has worked at several major media outlets including the National Post and the CBC, and a former self-represented litigant.

Lisa Eisen is the founder of Family Law: A La Carte, one of the first Canadian law firms to specialize in affordable unbundled legal services and legal coaching, and an accredited coach with the International Coaching Federation.
