Kyle Bagwell is the Kelvin J. Lancaster Professor of Economic Theory in the Department of Economics. He is also a Professor of Finance and Economics at the School of Business. In his research, Bagwell uses economic analysis to interpret and evaluate the design of the WTO. One goal of the research is to facilitate improvements in WTO rules and judicial practice. With co-author Robert W. Staiger, Bagwell has published several papers and written a book, entitled The Economics of the World Trading System. Bagwell is a Reporter for the American Law Institute, in its study of Principles of Trade Law: The World Trade Organization. His teaches a graduate economics course on The Theory of the WTO, and he co-teaches a seminar course on WTO Law at the Law School. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society.
