The Career Development Office staff will be available to third year students who need documents notarized for the licensing process(es). If you are prepared, this process takes less than 5 minutes. For Law Society of Upper Canada Licensing, please come prepared with the following:

1. Your completed Lawyer Licensing Application;
2. Your original proof of legal name document* plus one photocopy (which will be notarized);
3. A piece of photo ID (licence, passport, etc)

To expedite the process, kindly complete the address and date portion at the end of the commissioner's form.

Please do not sign the commissioner's form (at the end of your application) until you are in front of either Jordana or Lisa having your documents notarized.

* as stipulated by the Law Society - legal name documents include your birth certificate, citizenship card, immigration record, marriage certificate, official name change certificate, etc. Please consult the list provided by the Law Society and note that passports and driver's licences are not legal name documents for the purposes of licensing unless you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Should you have questions, please consult the Law Society or email CDO staff.

Brief appointments will be on a first come, first served basis.

Registration is not required.
