Here are 5 things you need to know about convocation:

  1. Date:  The Convocation Ceremony will take place on Friday June 9th, 2017 at 10:00am in Convocation Hall.
  1. Tickets:  You are allowed 5 tickets to the Convocation Ceremony (graduating students don’t need a ticket). The Office of Convocation issues tickets through an online e-ticketing system where e-tickets can only be ordered and printed through ACORN between May 8th and May 23rd. The Office of Convocation oversees ticket distribution (including extra tickets.) E-ticket instructions can be found here: Graduation Checklist.
  1. Gowns:  You order your gown online on the Office of Convocation website anytime during May 8th –May 23rd (see above link).
  1. Post-Convocation reception (**speeches start at 12:00 noon): You and your guests are invited to a reception and awards ceremony at the law school. The formal program will take place on the back lawn where there is limited shade, so you may want to bring hats and sunglasses. Given the large number of expected guests, there will be standing room only. However students who have guests who require seats should email sara.hubbard@utoronto.ca and we will reserve a limited number of folding chairs on the grass. Tea, coffee, water and light snacks will be available inside the law school.

Rain plan: Should the forecast call for rain on Friday June 9th, the post-Convocation reception will take place at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. We will be in touch 24 hours ahead of time to notify you if we change the venue to the Goldring Centre.
