Guest speaker: Louise Barrington, UT Law '76

Louise Barrington has been recognized by the Faculty of Law as a Trailblazer featured in a permanent photo exhibit in Flavelle House, celebrating 19 remarkable women graduates who are trailblazers in the legal profession.  With a U of T law degreed and a Masters in International Commercial Law, Louise forged into a male-dominated arena of commercial arbitration. She led the formation of "Arbitralwomen", a Paris-based, non-profit association to promote and foster the role of women in international arbitration. Louise has taught international business law, had a stint at the International Chamber of Commerce and currently resides in Hong Kong where she has been pivotal in establishing a new  law program a the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  She established of the Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong in 2002-03 and will be heading to Kings College in London in January to take over the Construction Law and Dispute Resolution programme.

All students are invited to hear about Louise's own career path and the ins and outs of pursuing an international career in law.
