Prof. Anita Anand has been appointed a Fellow-in-Residence by the C. D. Howe Institute, an independent, not-for-profit research centre for Canadian economic and public policy.

William Robson, president and CEO of the C. D. Howe Institute, made the announcement today.

“Anita brings a wealth of knowledge to the research program, notably in capital markets regulation and performance,” said Robson in a release. “We look forward to working with her to shape the Institute’s Governance and Economic Performance Initiative.”

Anand is the academic director for the Centre for the Legal Profession, and the innovative Program on Ethics in Law and Business. She is cross-appointed to the University of Toronto's School of Public Policy and Governance, and has served as the associate dean (JD Program) from 2007-2009. During the 2009-2010 academic year, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Bank of Canada and a Herbert Smith Visitor at the University of Cambridge.

She was the inaugural chair of the Ontario Securities Commission's Investor Advisory Panel (2010-2012) and the past president of the Canadian Law and Economics Association (2009-2011).
