Mandate

The Environmental Law Club is dedicated to engaging the law faculty interested in exploring issues and opportunities in environmental law. We host a series of educational and social events, as will as aim to develop accessible environmental law resources for students. In doing so, we strive to maintain a vibrant environmental consciousness at the Faculty of Law. See below for a list of this year’s tentative events and external resources. We kindly welcome new members and are always receptive to event suggestions!

Club objectives

  • Provide a social network for individuals interested in environmental law
  • Promote greater awareness of the legal aspects of current environmental law
  • Create professional networks and offer opportunities to understand the practice of environmental law

Activities and Opportunities

Yearly activities and opportunities include:

  • Informal social outings such as hikes and potlucks
  • Hosting a career panel with practitioners from Bay Street, environmental firms and government offices
  • On campus film screenings

Our events vary from year-to-years depending on membership, but the Environmental Law Club is a great way to build contacts and share experiences and resources between students with an interest in environmental law.

  • Co-hosting (with Charity Law Interest Group) - Environmental Charities and Political Activities, an informal discussion regarding environmental charities and their activities
