Rob Yalden, LLB 1988, is the inaugural holder of the Stephen Sigurdson Professorship in Corporate Law and Finance at Queen’s University law school, after retiring from Osler Hoskin  & Harcourt LLP later this year.

The Sigurdson Professorship was established to commemorate the memory of Osler’s former partner and national managing partner following his passing in November of 2016.  Yalden has been a prominent member of Osler’s M&A and corporate practices for many years, holding numerous leadership positions throughout his careers. He was also an integral part of the team that opened Osler’s Montreal office in 2001, teaches at McGill as an adjunct, co-authored leading textbooks in business law, and has written extensively for legal and business publications.
