This course examines the regulation of Canadian capital markets, focusing on: public offerings, exempt distributions, continuous disclosure obligations, insider trading and enforcement issues. The main objective of the course is to develop an understanding of securities legislation and relevant case law. A further focus of the course is to analyze the regulatory regime in light of the regulatory mandate to protect investors and maintain fair and efficient capital markets.
