UTLawSees

UTLawSees encourages law students to “see” all members of their community. Regardless of where we end up after law school, public interest work is likely to become a big part of our duties as the trend among both firms and lawyers has been to give back to the community through pro bono and volunteer work. In preparation for this transition, we aim to bridge the gap and frustration that often exist between lawyers and their community when we do not properly understand the everyday realities faced by disadvantaged people.

We hope to achieve this through a diversity of volunteer experiences with our partner organizations: Lawyers Feed the Hungry, St. Christopher House, Daily Bread and Sanctuary. Gaining new perspectives and stewardship of our community requires a small time commitment but a lot of dedication – we are confident that those who join us will come away with an experience of their lifetime.
