The David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights has published the Spring 2012 issue of its newlsetter Asper Centre Outlook. The new issue features an interview with Joseph Arvay, the inaugural Constitutional-Litigator-in-Residence, case comments, and an overview of constitutional cases before the Supreme Court of Canada during this 30th anniversary year of the Charter.

Student is Beijing-bound to Tsinghua University

(April 14, 2012) Law student Jonathan Chow, 2L, is Beijing-bound this fall. He’s the first Faculty of Law student to study for a semester abroad at Tsinghua University, taking courses in English as part of an LLM program for international students on the foundations of Chinese law.  And he says there’s never been a better time to go.

Many congratulations go to the winners of the 17th annual Frank W. Callaghan Memorial Moot: Azeezah Kanji and Deirdre Bryant, who mooted in the final round against Meagan Jemmett and Anu Koshal, before Justices of the Superior Court of Ontario. All four finalists were coached by Chris Cairns and Graeme Deuchars.  The Callaghan is organised and warmly supported by Professor Hamish Stewart.
