U of T Faculty of Law Opens Up LL.M. Program in Response to Economy and Increased Demand by Law School Graduates

Friday, May 1, 2009

Toronto, May 1, 2009 - In response to the changing economic situation and increased demand for graduate degrees, the U of T Faculty of Law is extending  the application deadline for its prestigious Master of Laws (LLM) program until July 31st, 2009, although earlier applications are encouraged.

"There is a lot of renewed interest in our LLM programs right now, perhaps inspired by the economic situation" says Dean Mayo Moran." Attaining a higher level of legal education is always a great addition to one's career and marketability.  We are happy to be able to help lawyers find ways to enhance their skills during these uncertain times."

The Faculty of Law's many programs and initiatives create a lively intellectual atmosphere, and provide many opportunities to gain valuable skills and experience in a broad range of fields.  Some of the more popular fields include corporate and commercial law, constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, health law and policy, international law, and human rights.

"The U of T  LLM program offers the highest caliber of legal education, close interaction with Canada's leading legal scholars, and the opportunity to pursue areas of specialization that are tailored to individual need," says Associate Dean David Dyzenhaus. "It provides a tremendous opportunity to develop a more sophisticated level of legal knowledge and expertise in key practice areas. Ultimately, we believe it opens doors to new opportunities in law."
