An improv mock trial featuring Dean Mayo Moran, Professor Anthony Niblett, bestselling author Robert Rotenberg, and former CBC host Ralph Benmergui

Art deco style poster of the literary mootJoin us at the inaugural University of Toronto Literary Moot, sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright and Osler, for a hilarious evening of law, literature and improv as we bring classic characters from The Great Gatsby to life and put them before lawyers and a judge. In this charity event, our very own Dean Mayo Moran, playing Daisy Buchanan, and Professor Anthony Niblett (Jay Gatsby) will join criminal lawyer and bestselling author Robert Rotenberg (Nick Carraway) and former CBC host Ralph Benmergui (Tom Buchanan) to settle once and for all who was behind the wheel of the car that ran over Myrtle Wilson.

The event is free but we encourage and welcome any donations that you can make. All proceeds will go to the charity "University in the Community", a program that offers free university-level humanities courses to low-income adults. Robert Rotenberg has graciously provided two of his autographed legal thrillers for a silent auction during the event.

The Literary Moot will be held on February 27th at Innis Town Hall Theatre, Innis College (2 Sussex Avenue, near St. George St. and Harbord St.). Doors open at 6:30PM and the show starts at 7:00PM. Reception to follow  at the Fox and Fiddle at St. George/Bloor. Light snacks will be provided.
