Bernadette joined the Faculty of Law in 2002 in a joint position as Faculty Secretary and Executive Assistant with Capital Markets Institute (CMI).  From 2006 – 2010, Bernadette took on the role of Executive Assistant to the Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute for Health Services and Policy Research, Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. In 2010 Bernadette left the Faculty of Law to be a full-time stay-at-home mom. Bernadette returned to the Faculty of Law in 2014 and has since taken on various casual roles with the Associate Dean, Graduate Program; Associate Dean, Research; Associate Dean, JD Program; Assistant to Facilities Services and Special Events. In October 2022, Bernadette took on a permanent position as Senior Executive Assistant, Dean's Office. 

Prior to joining the Faculty of Law, Bernadette worked at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her position at Dalhousie University was within the international unit, Lester Pearson International, assisting with planning and coordination of international faculty projects, international student exchanges and the Study Work International Fund (SWIF), which was a financial program that assisted students in financial need to study abroad with Dalhousie’s partner international institutions.

 

Bernadette received her Legal Secretary Certificate in 1990 from the Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, and worked at the law firm, Crease & Company in Victoria, BC and assisted with Wills, Estates and Corporate law.

 Bernadette was born and raised near Humboldt, Saskatchewan and in her teens moved to Trail, BC with her family. In 2001 she came to Toronto with her husband Nick Mount who is a Professor with the Department of English, University of Toronto.
