Vivian Bercovici

Vivian Bercovici, BA (Hons) (York, Hebrew University) 1984, Diploma (London School of Economics and Political Science) 1985, LLB (University of Toronto) 1988, is a partner at Heenan Blaikie, LLP, a national Canadian law firm. Her career has been varied, focusing on media defence litigation, working as a senior political staff member to the Minister of Finance, Ontario, serving as an executive and General Counsel in a major Canadian insurance company and, most recently, managing a law practice specializing in insurance regulatory matters, aboriginal law and health law. In addition to acting as legal counsel, Vivian has advised clients on managing related issues like stakeholder management and communications. She sees legal issue management as a very dynamic undertaking in which creativity is key. In March, 2013, Vivian was appointed to the board of directors of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
