Ronald Podolny, B.A. (Hon.) (York); J.D. (Bronze Medal) (Osgoode Hall), of the Bars of Ontario and New York, is a partner in the Class Actions Group of Rochon Genova LLP. His practice is focused on class action litigation, including securities, competition, environmental, consumer protection and product liability matters. Mr. Podolny has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, as well as before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Podolny has authored articles on a variety of topics in class actions and commercial litigation. His work has been published in  the Canadian Business Law Journal, Lexpert, The Advocates Quarterly, The Lawyers Weekly, Global Insolvency & Restructuring Review and other leading industry and academic publications. His articles have been cited with approval by Canadian courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada. In 2018, Ron was a recipient of the Precedent Setter Award, which recognizes Toronto lawyers who have shown excellence and leadership in their first 10 years of practice. In 2019, Ron was the recipient of the "Lexpert Rising Stars Award: Leading Lawyers Under 40." The award celebrates the achievements of Canada's leading lawyers under 40. Winners are selected by a distinguished Advisory Board from among lawyers practicing at law firms, in-house departments, government, academia and the non-profit sector.
