Robert Centa

Adjunct Professor

Robert Centa acts in all areas of advocacy, with an emphasis on public law and business litigation. He has acted for clients in partnership and shareholder rights disputes, commercial litigation, major insolvencies, commercial arbitrations, and in copyright and trade-mark disputes. He regularly acts for universities and other public institutions and has extensive experience in public inquiries.  Lexpert named Mr. Centa one of Canada’s leading lawyers under the age of 40. He has also been recognized in the Best Lawyers in Canada, Chambers Global, Lexpert, and Benchmark guides.  In 1999, Mr. Centa received the gold medal and the Dean Cecil A. Wright Key from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. Prior to his call to the Ontario Bar, Mr. Centa clerked for the Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Mr. Centa has authored many articles and conference papers. In 2008 the University of Toronto awarded Mr. Centa the Arbor Award for outstanding voluntary service to the University of Toronto. He has taught in the Trial Advocacy program at the Faculty of Law since 1999.
