Rebecca C. W. Chan is a partner of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP involved in transactional, general business advisory and regulatory work for various financial institutions, service providers. She has completed a Bachelor of Laws degree at McGill University, graduating with distinction, an LL.M. at Columbia University, graduating with highest honours, (James Kent Scholar) and has studied at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law. Prior to that, Ms. Chan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo in economics and international trade. She speaks English, French and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese). Ms. Chan advises on Canada-wide design and distribution of products and services for international and domestic financial institutions and service providers, including structuring, documentation, promotion and advertising, client facing correspondence, outsourcing arrangements, privacy concerns and collections. Ms. Chan also advises on interactions with OSFI, CDIC, CPA, FCAC, the Privacy Commissioner, and provincial regulators. Ms. Chan is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, American Bar Association, and International Bar Association. She is a regular speaker and writer on financial services related topics.
